What is the Soft Limit Feature in Zyla API Hub?

Understand how the Soft Limit feature works in Zyla API Hub, its billing process, and how to manage overages.

The Soft Limit feature in Zyla API Hub is automatically activated when accounts subscribe to an API under the platform. This feature allows consumers to exceed the API usage included in their plan by making additional API calls, providing more flexibility, and preventing service interruption if you reach the usage limit of your plan.

You can enable or disable the Soft Limit feature at any time from your account settings, which can be accessed through the Subscriptions section while logged in here: Zyla Subscriptions.

If you exceed your plan’s limits, the usage is tracked as an overage, and you’ll be billed for the additional API calls at the end of your subscription cycle. The invoice for the overages will be generated when the new subscription cycle begins, reflecting the usage from the previous period.

To see the cost for each additional API call, you can visit the pricing page of each API. This will give you a clear view of the additional costs of exceeding your plan's limits.

Your plan includes a set number of API calls per month. For example, if your plan allows for 2,000 API calls, you can make up to 2,000 additional calls beyond your plan’s initial allocation. This gives you extra flexibility, but be sure to monitor your usage to avoid unexpected charges.

Please note that if any Soft Limit invoice remains unpaid, Zyla API Hub reserves the right to suspend your service. In such cases, no refunds will be provided for the subscription fees paid during the suspension period.

This feature ensures that you can continue using the API even if you exceed your plan’s limits, but it's important to keep track of your usage to stay within your budget.
